Welcome to the Claim Home page
Here we explain what Claim Home is, who it benefits, and why you might want to market this unique feature of the HomeDiary platform.
Each HomeDiary Story, or virtual tour, has a Claim Home menu option right on the virtual tour. This can be turned off on a listing by listing basis, or you can also turn it off under your profile settings/Content display options. When a user Claims the Home, an email is sent to you as the listing agent to either approve the Claim Home request or reject it. If you approve it, then the listing photos and the 2D/3D floor plan tool is copied over into the user’s private HomeDiary account, compliments of you.
Note both the buyer and seller can claim the home. For the buyer, they can use it to share photos or edit the floor plan for anything – add or remove walls, change the flooring or wall colors, drag and drop furniture to create a moving guide or virtually stage/size furniture, or they can even use it as a landscape planning tool, such as to map out where artificial turf might go (which I highly recommend by the way). See the video below on the various use cases and even how to create floor plans in HomeDiary.
This is all provided for free as a byproduct of you creating a FloorPlan oriented tour in the HomeDiary platform.
The Claim Home email you will get looks something like this below.
When someone Claims the Home, the content is put into their own private HomeDiary account, which is free for the user to use over time. This feature also does not cost you anything more, it is just part of our platform. You will get some attribution branding on the floor plan, like you see below, but you are not the “sponsor” of the user’s HomeDiary account, meaning on the home page and in the app, you will not be the default “home pro” to show. If you want to be the sponsor, which is applicable for every property a user logs and tracks in HomeDiary, you should first invite the user to sign up for HomeDiary via the sponsor process, which is also free for you. You can learn more about being a Sponsor here.
Because you paid for the floor plan for the listing, we are providing you this attribution branding free of charge. It is like a breadcrumb left back to you. And per our experience, it can help you win more business. We have been in business for over 20 years now, and over this time, we have had multiple agents relist the same house up to 3 times that we know of now. Why?
Each buyer wanted the same content to sell their house as they got when they bought it…
What can someone do with HomeDiary, and the 3D interactive floor plan claimed?
A lot! What we provide is similar to the floor plan tools people see on the popular HGTV shows, but it is very simple to draw walls, drag and drop furniture or change the flooring or wall colors. Use cases include:

See the short video below of what you can do in the floor plan tool, including using it for exterior landscape planning. We also go through how to create a floor plan from scratch if one did not exist on the initial Claim Home process, or if someone wants to create one for a different home. The video also highlights what a user can do in HomeDiary to log, manage and track key projects for their home.
