One Company. Two Clear Directions.
For years, FloorPlanOnline has been closely associated with residential real estate marketing—photography, floor plans, 3D tours and the other services agents need to market a listing.
That business is not going away. It is getting a clearer home.
Going forward, HomeDiary and HomeDiary PRO will represent the residential side of our business, while FloorPlanOnline will focus on commercial real estate, businesses and property management.
Why make the change? Because the residential and commercial markets may share buildings, cameras and floor plans, but they do not share the same needs.
HomeDiary Is Our Residential Platform
HomeDiary is built around the home and the people connected to it.
For homeowners, the opportunity is to create a lasting digital record of the home—its floor plan, improvements, documents, inventory and other useful property information. Instead of losing everything in a filing cabinet, email inbox or mysterious kitchen drawer, the information can remain organized and useful throughout homeownership.
HomeDiary PRO serves the professionals surrounding the home, particularly real estate agents. It combines residential listing services with a platform that can continue delivering value after the transaction.
That distinction matters.
A listing is temporary. The home is not.
We believe the photography, floor plans and property information created for a real estate transaction should be able to do more than help market the home for a few weeks. That information can become the beginning of a useful digital record for the homeowner—and a better long-term connection between the homeowner and the professional who introduced them to HomeDiary.
That is the residential vision, and HomeDiary is where we will continue building it.
FloorPlanOnline Is Going Commercial
Commercial properties present a different opportunity.
A commercial floor plan is not simply a marketing graphic. It can help a property owner, business or property manager understand and communicate how a space is configured and used. When combined with photography, virtual tours, digital-twin technology and organized property information, it can become a practical business asset.
The commercial side also involves different customers, different property types and different workflows. Trying to squeeze those needs into a residential ordering process does not make much sense.
So, we are changing it.
FloorPlanOnline will become our commercial-facing business, focused on capture and conversion services for commercial real estate, businesses and property managers.
We can create the necessary property content in two ways.
First, we can send a professional to the property to provide on-site capture services. Second, if you already have property information, we can convert virtually any source—architectural plans, CAD files, existing floor plans, 3D tour links and more—into our shareable and editable 2D and 3D formats.
That second option creates an especially interesting opportunity. Many businesses already have useful property information, but it is trapped in static plans, specialized files or platforms that are difficult to share and even harder to update. Why recreate everything from scratch when we can convert what already exists?
The result is useful, accessible property content at a fraction of the cost often associated with other digital-twin and property-visualization solutions.
The objective is not simply to create another attractive marketing asset that gets filed away after the immediate project is complete. We want to help customers create digital property information they can share, edit and continue using.
That is where the digital-twin strategy becomes especially interesting.
A New Commercial Ordering Experience Is Coming
We are currently developing an entirely new FloorPlanOnline commercial order form and backend.
This is more than putting a commercial label on the existing residential system. The new experience is being designed around commercial projects and the people responsible for ordering and managing them.
The goal is straightforward: make it easier to order on-site services or submit existing source materials, provide the necessary project information and move the resulting property assets into a system designed for their ongoing use.
There is plenty still to build—and we will share more details as the new platform gets closer to launch. But the direction is clear:
- HomeDiary is for homeowners and the home.
- HomeDiary PRO is for real estate agents and residential professionals.
- FloorPlanOnline is for commercial real estate, businesses and property management.
Same company. Same commitment to quality and innovation. Much clearer purposes.
Why This Matters
This repositioning gives each side of our business room to grow without forcing two very different customer journeys into one box.
HomeDiary can concentrate on creating lasting value for homeowners and helping residential professionals extend their relationships beyond the transaction.
FloorPlanOnline can concentrate on commercial capture, source-file conversion, floor plans and digital twins—along with the workflows required to make that information valuable to businesses and property professionals.
We have always believed a floor plan should be more than a static picture. It should be editable, usable and connected to the property it represents. The commercial market gives us an opportunity to take that idea much further.
I smell an opportunity.
The new FloorPlanOnline commercial ordering system is coming soon. We look forward to showing you what we are building—and, more importantly, what you will be able to do with it.
